Two men involved in the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old AC technician at Arsh Mahal Eidgah in Attapur were arrested within 24 hours during a joint operation by the Attapur police and Special Operations Team (SOT) on Thursday (September 4, 2025).
The victim, identified as Saif Ahmed Khan of Kishan Bagh, Bahadurpura, was attacked on the morning of September 3 after an old grudge escalated into violence. Police said the main accused, Mohammed Saifuddin alias Faizan, 24, and his associate Mohammed Zabi, 19, both residents of Kishan Bagh, confronted Khan near the Eidgah, picked up a quarrel and launched a knife attack.
Investigations revealed that Faizan bore enmity towards Khan after an earlier altercation three months ago, during which Khan had allegedly assaulted him and abused his mother. “With revenge on his mind, Faizan roped in Zabi to help him eliminate Khan,” police said.
According to officials, Zabi first stabbed the victim in the stomach with a knife he had carried, before handing it over to Faizan, who then stabbed Khan repeatedly on the chest, stomach, forearm and near the neck. Locals rushed Khan to Osmania General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
During the operation, police seized the knife used in the crime, a two-wheeler and two mobile phones from the accused. Both men are now in custody. Police said the accused have been booked for murder and further investigation is underway.
