A RTC bus driver was allegedly found dead at his house in Pulakurthi village of Kodumur mandal in the district early on Wednesday. Police suspect that the man was killed by his son, who believed that he could get his father’s job on compassionate grounds. The deceased, Kammari Ramachari (50), a resident of Pulakurthi village, worked as a driver at the Yemmiganur RTC Bus depot.
According to sources, locals heard cries from the house in the early hours of Wednesday and informed the police. Police found Ramachari dead in a pool of blood. They said that the deceased’s head was smashed with a pestle.
According to locals, the deceased used to have frequent quarrels with his son Veeraswamy Achari. Though police are yet to confirm the motive behind the killing, it is suspected that the son might had killed his father to get his job on compassionate grounds. Ramachari’s body was shifted to Kodumur Government Hospital for autopsy. The accused was reportedly taken into custody.
